Every picture tells a story; and Bob Savakinus has a talent for telling stories of NEPA in the way of moving pictures.

Bob Savakinus is a documentary filmmaker, writer, director and executive producer known for the documentaries Return to Rocky Glen Park, Confederation of Union Generals, The Story of the Electric City and Scranton’s Championship Season (a retrospective on one of the greatest films ever shot in Pennsylvania – Jason Miller’s “That Championship Season”).

Bob is a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) with an MA in Education from Marywood University and works as a Transition Education Specialist. Bob’s work in the production field includes producing, directing and/or writing10 local history documentaries. As Founder and President of Cannon Fire Productions, he has also produced or co-produced six feature films with several other projects in production.

Bob will discuss his methods in developing, producing, and marketing multi-media projects including documentaries and feature films. In working with the Lackawanna County Commissioners, Bob is leading the effort to create a county film commission to draw more projects to our region that will showcase local businesses and resources.
