You will perform (with or without the help of your small cast) your original short film script in front of a live audience and a panel of (3) independent judges. The judges will pick one winner based on Best Presentation and Best Potential for a short film. The winner will be awarded a $500 Grant provided by Fade In / Fade Out.

Contest Rules:
Scripts will be submitted to Fade In / Fade Out for selection. Writers / creators of submitted scripts retain complete ownership of their intellectual properties. Submitted scripts cannot exceed 15 pages.
Script Submission is FREE to current FIFO members. Non-members pay a $20 submission fee. (Only collected if you’re picked)
Script submission opens July 1st 2024 and closes August 25th 2024.
Fade In / Fade Out will select a sufficient number of scripts to fill a 2 hour block of performances. Writers / creators of selected scripts will be informed by September 3rd. If selected; the creator / owner of script will perform it in its entirety. This performance can be simply read, or done as a staged reading (script in hand) or performed by a limited cast. Content of a violent or sexual nature must be staged for a PG audience. Set pieces will NOT be allowed. Props will be kept at an extreme minimum and must be approved by Fade In / Fade Out prior to performance.
The performances will take place on October 16th at Civic Theater in Allentown.
Still, photography or video photography of the performances by entrants or audience members is strictly forbidden. Filming of the event will be done solely by FIFO expressly for archival preservation and safety and will NOT be posted or shared.
A single winner will be chosen on the night of the performances by a panel of (3) independent judges. All filmmakers are required to stay for the duration of the event to be eligible to win.
The winner of the grant agrees to include the FIFO logo in either the opening or closing credits of their finished film.
