Scripts will be submitted to Fade In / Fade Out for selection. Writers/creators of submitted scripts retain complete ownership of their intellectual properties. Submitted scripts cannot exceed 15 pages.

Script submission opens June 18th, 2025, and closes August 1st, 2025.

Fade In / Fade Out will select a sufficient number of scripts to fill a 2-hour block of performances. Writers/creators of selected scripts will be informed by August 20th. If selected; the creator/owner of the script will perform it in its entirety. This performance can be read simply, or performed as a staged reading (with the script in hand) or by a limited cast. Content of a violent or sexual nature must be staged for a PG audience. Set pieces will NOT be allowed. Props will be kept at an extreme minimum and must be approved by Fade In / Fade Out prior to performance.

The performances will take place at CIVIC Theatre 514 in Allentown, PA, on the evening of Wednesday, September 17th.

Still photography or video photography of the performances by entrants or audience members is strictly forbidden. Filming of the event will be done solely by FIFO expressly for archival preservation and safety, and will NOT be posted or shared.

A single winner will be chosen on the night of the performances by a panel of 3 independent judges. Contestants will be judged on performance, story, and feasibility of concept. All entrants are required to stay for the duration of the event to be eligible to win.

The winner of the grant agrees to include the FIFO logo in either the opening or closing credits of their finished film.
